Forgotten Sunnah Series-2

2. Wearing the pants or garments above the ankle for men.

It is narrated o the authority of Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (may ace he upon him) observed:

Three are the (persons) with whom Allah would neither speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor would look at them nor would absolve them and there is a painful chastisement for them.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeated it three times. Abu Dharr remarked: They failed and they lost; who are these persons, Messenger of Allah? Upon this he (the Holy) Prophet) observed:

They are:

  1. the dragger of lower garment,
  2. the recounter of obligation,
  3. the seller of goods by false oath.

(Sahih Muslim,106a)

Summary:

  • Dragging the garment below the ankles is forbidden for men.
  • The person who does a favour upon someone and reminds them of the favour, will be punished by Allah.
