Forgotten Sunnah Series-14
Saying Allahu Akbar when ascending a place(or stairs) and SubhanAllah during descent.
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
Whenever we went up a place we would say, “Allahu–Akbar (i.e. Allah is Greater)”, and whenever we went down a place we would say, “Subhan Allah.”

Forgotten Sunnah Series-15
Dua when listening to the thunder and wind.
‘Ata’ b. Rabah reported on the authority of ‘A’isha, the wife of the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him), who said:

اللَّهُمَّ إِني أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا ، وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا ، وخَيْر ما أُرسِلَتْ بِهِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بك مِنْ شَرِّهِا ، وَشَرِّ ما فِيها ، وَشَرِّ ما أُرسِلَت بِهِ
Dua when hearing thunder.
Whenever Abdullah bin Zubair (رضي الله عنه) would hear thunder, he would abandon all conversation and say this supplication. See Al-Muwatta’ 2/992.
سُبْـحانَ الّذي يُسَبِّـحُ الـرَّعْدُ بِحَمْـدِهِ، وَالملائِكـةُ مِنْ خيـفَته
Glory is to Him Whom thunder and angels glorify due to fear of Him.

Dua when wearing a new dress.
“Allahumma lakal-hamdu, Anta kasautanihi, as`aluka khairahu wa khaira ma suni`a lahu, wa a`udhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma suni`a lahu.”
(O Allah, all the praise is for You that You have given it to me to put on. I ask You its goodness and the goodness of the purpose for which it was made, and I seek Your Protection from its evil and the evil of the purpose for which it was made)

اللهم لك الحمد أنت كسوتنيه، أسألك خيره وخير
ما صنع له، وأعوذ بك من شره وشر ما صنع له
Forgotten Sunnah Series-17
Beginning from the right when wearing clothes and performing Wudhu (ablution).
Narrated Abu Hurayrah:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When you put on (a garment) and when you perform ablution, you should begin with your right side.

*This also implies to beginning from the right leg whilst wearing Sandals, Imam Abu Dawud titled this Hadith under the heading ‘Wearing Sandals’ (Kitab ul Libas Book 34, Chapter on Wearing Sandals Book 43).
