I met Hafiz Abdur Rahman Qadimi,and he mentioned a story of one of his companions from his village.He had a friend Sh.Abdus Sami Qasimi Rampuri,who had graduated from Deoband, but wasn’t fortunate enough to realize how important it was to be a Hafiz.
Shaikh Abdus Sami would always tell him,”I wish Allah frees me from this Duniya for a while so that I could memorize The Quran”.
Three years back,the very Shaikh,was falsely accused in a terrorism case,and is in jail since then.In the first 2 years of his stay he memorized The Book of Allah,and is revising it now.Hafiz Abdur Rahman mentions that though in jail till date,the Shaikh is happy that he accomplished a greatly virtuous act and is busy with The Best Book on Earth.
