Foreword
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الحمد لله و الصلاة و السلام على رسول الله و على آله و أصحابه أجمعين و من تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.
قال الله سبحانه وتعالى:
“ادعوني أستجب لكم”
“And your Lord said: “Invoke (Supplicate to) Me, I will respond to your (invocation)”
[Quran, Surah Ghaafir 40:60]
And the most beloved creation of Allah Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“الدعاء هو العبادة”
“Dua (supplication) is worship”.
Before you is the translation of the book ‘Jaami’ Sahih Al-Adhkar’ of the Muhaddith of our era Shaikh Muhammad Nasiruddin Al-Albani (1914- 1999 CE) in the English language.
From the beneficial books and compilations of the Shaikh is the book ‘Jaami Sahih Al-Adhkar’. Wherein the Shaikh had meticulously checked the authenticity of the Ahadith which mentioned the supplications of the Sunnah and also compiled them under different headings similar to famous books like ‘Hisn-ul-Muslim’.
The best part of the book is that it presents the Ahadith of the supplications and not only the wordings of the supplications. So for the students who love reviving the Sunnah of memorizing Ahadith and gaining its rewards- alongside memorizing Duas, this book is a great resource.
At-Tirmidhi (2658) narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“May Allah beautify a man who hears a saying of mine, so he understands it, remembers it and conveys it. There may be one who conveys knowledge to someone who understands it better than he does.” (Sahih by Al-Albani)
Thus, this book was chosen and was set as a translation assignment for our students from the 3rd year (Women’s) Taleem-ush-Shariah 2018/2019 batch studying in Peace Mansion, Mangalore-India, with an intention of encouraging them to take up the translation of scholarly works as a means of spreading goodness to the Ummah.
The students could together complete around one quarter of the book Alhamdulillah. After that our student Ummu Tahira Faaizah bint Mustaque, encouraged by her teachers, aimed at completely translating the entire book so that it benefits the Ummah.
In this endeavour, we will be presenting to you sections of the English translation of the book ‘Jaami Sahih Al-Adhkar’ by Shaikh Muhammad Nasiruddin Al-Albani.
I would request my Muslim brothers and sisters to benefit from this and seek knowledge from The Quran and The authentically proven Sunnah
May Allah reward all of our students and staff who were involved in working on this book, may Allah reward sister Ummu Tahira Faaizah for taking up the task of completing this virtuous project. May Allah guide the people involved with this book to be upon the Deen with steadfastness. Aameen.
