Umar ibn Al-Khattab used to break his fast (after Maghrib Adhaan) by having sexual intercourse. During Ramadan he used to have intercourse with three concubines before Salaat-il-Isha (the night prayers). (Ihya Uloom Ad-Deen of Al-Ghazali, 2/54)
Status of the narration: In page 39 of the Urdu book, ‘Islam ke mujrim kaun? (Who are ‘The Criminals of Islam’?), Shaikh Muhammad Hussain Memon Pakistani- refuting the Hadith rejector Dr.Shabbir Ahmed on his Hadith rejection- and said, ‘The narration that Dr.Shabbir has mentioned (from Ihya Uloom Ad-Deen) has no basis and we agree with him that this was indeed concocted by the criminals (enemies) of Islam’.

Addendum: It is authentically proven from Abdullah bin Umar (رضي الله عنه) that he used to do so.
Imam Tabarani relates in his Al-Mu’jam al-Kabir (12/269) from Muhammad ibn Sirin who said, “AbdAllah ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him) would, at times, open his fast with sexual relations [with his wife].” Al-Haythami in his Al-Majma’ al-Zawa’id (3/156) and others considered this report to be sound (hasan). Note:
A thing to be clarified is: We shouldn’t become aggravated with this narration because breaking the fast with sexual intercourse after Adhaan is not Haraam.
Rather spreading a false narration of Umar (رضي الله عنه) or anyone else is not right. The narration is true from Ibn Umar (رضي الله عنه).
Even without these proofs, if a Muslim after Maghrib Adhaan breaks his fast by having sexual intercourse, it’s not Haraam at all.
Also, the wordings of Shaikh Muhammad Hussain Memon, *agree with him that this was indeed concocted by the criminals (enemies) of Islam* is unwarranted and unnecessary. It is enough to say that the narration of Umar (رضي الله عنه) is fabricated.
And Allah knows the best.
