Duha and Ishraq Prayers- Notes.

Q) When does the time for Duha Prayer start?

Ans.

Shaykh Ibn Al-‘Uthaymeen defined it as being from a quarter of an hour after the sun has risen (Tulu’) until ten minutes before Zuhr prayer.

Al-Sharh al-Mumti’, 4/122

Q) What is the Ishraaq prayer?

Shaykh Ibn Baaz said:

Ishraaq prayer is Duha prayer done at the beginning of its time.

Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 11/401.

Q) What is the virtue of Ishraaq (Early Duha) prayer?

Concerning its virtue, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak‘ahs, will have a reward like that of Hajj and ‘Umrah, complete, complete, complete.”

Narrated by at-Tirmidhi (586), from Anas ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him), Hasan according to Sh.Al-Albani and Sh.Ibn Baaz.

Q) Is Ishraaq or Duha Wajib (Obligatory)?

No it is Mustahab (highly recommended) but not Wajib.

Q) What is the maximum number of Rakahs allowed in Duha?

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The minimum – for Duha – is two rak‘ahs, and there is no maximum number. But the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed two and four rak‘ahs, and on the day of the conquest of Makkah he prayed Duha with eight rak‘ahs, on the day on which Allah granted him the conquest of Makkah. So this matter is broad in scope. Whether a person prays eight or ten or twelve rak‘ahs, or more than that, or less, there is nothing wrong with it, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The (Sunnah) prayers of the night and day are two (rak‘ahs) by two.” The Sunnah is to pray two by two, saying the salaam after each two rak‘ahs.

End quote from Majmoo‘ Fataawa Ibn Baaz, 11/389

Q) How should one offer the Duha prayers?

Ans. Two Rakahs with a complete Tasleem (Salams), and then two and two and so on.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

What is prescribed is for the Muslim to offer the naafil prayers of the day and the night two by two, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The night prayers are (to be offered) two by two” (saheeh – agreed upon). And according to a saheeh report he said: “The prayers of the night and the day are (to be offered) two by two.” Narrated by Imam Ahmad and the authors of al-Sunan with a saheeh isnaad.

Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 11/390

Q) What is Salatul Awabeen?

Salatul Awwabeen is Salatud Duha which is prayed when the sun has risen high and it is best to pray it when the weather is the hottest.

According to a report narrated by Muslim from al-Qaasim al-Shaybaani, Zayd ibn Arqam saw some people praying Duhaa and said: Do they not know that praying at some other time than this is better? The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Salaat al-Awwaabeen is when the young camels lift up their feet (because of the heat of the sand). (Saheeh Muslim, 1237).

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: The phrase Salaat al-Awwaabeen is when the young camels lift up their feet (because of the heat of the sand) refers to when the sand becomes unbearably hot from the suns heat, and burns the soles of the young camels feet, so they alternately raise and lower their feet in response to the heat of the sand. Al-Awwaab means one who is obedient, or one who turns to obedience. The hadeeth also refers to the best time to offer this prayer, although it is permissible to pray it any time after the sun has risen and before it reaches its zenith.

(Sharh Muslim lil-Nawawi).

Q) What are the forbidden times for praying Salatud Duha?

-1- From when dawn breaks until approximately a quarter of an hour after the sun has risen (Atleast 15 minutes after Tulu’ we mustn’t pray any Nafil). You can find out the time of sunrise from the timetables that are available in all countries.

-2- Approximately a quarter of an hour before the time for Zuhr prayer begins, until the time for Zuhr begins. (Atleast 15 mins before Zuhr we should stop praying all Nafil Salah.)

Note: There are many more virtues of Duha Prayer in the Ahadith.

Yasir Qadhi- Points On His Manhaj.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Q) Who is Yasir Qadhi? Is he a Modernist Salafi?

Yasir Qadhi is not a Modernist Salafi, he is only a *modernist*.

1) His mixing with the deviant Ahlul Bidah of Al-Maghrib institute and his distance from Salafi Duaat is clear.

2) He has mocked the Ulama for their mistaken Ijtehad publicly.

3) Yasir Qadhi hates Sh.Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and has called him the founder of neo-Khawarij (new Khawarij movement).

4) As an addition to point 3. He considers extreme grave worshippers to be Muslims.

5) Very recently he has stated that Yajuj and Majuj are not exactly as they’re mentioned in Ahadith.

6) He calls for unity with the Shia.

No one but someone like him will praise or commend him.

Q) Can we watch his Seerah classes as it is said that they were given before his deviance?

No, his Seerah classes are after he started becoming deviant. Plus there are many weak Ahadith in them.

Even if he used authentic narrations, we can’t hear him because we can’t allow our ears to fall in love with a Mubtadi deviant like him. Our hearts are very feeble. They ll soon fall for his other rubbish.

-Abu Muaaz Mohammed Manna.

Why is Yasmin Mogahed from the deviant preachers?

Yasmin Mogahed is deviant and is understood by the facts that:

1) She doesn’t warn against Shirk and Bidah and has not clearly stated what is her position or definition of Tawheed.

2) A Daiyah is known by his/her company, Yasmin Mogahed is not known to be with the authentic Salafi preachers. She is associated with the deviant modernist-liberal Al-Maghrib institute.

3) You will never see her quoting the authentic scholars of our century like the Shuyookh- Al-Albani, Ibn Baaz, Ibn Al-Uthaymeen, Muqbil bin Hadee, etc.

4) You will not see her clearly condemning or refuting the LGBT group or same-sex (homosexual) groups.

5) If she is not directing the people to the authentic Salafi Ulama, then whom is she directing towards, of course towards the Al-Maghrib liberal modernists.

●This is enough of a proof to avoid her and her deviant Dawah.

Men Listening To Islamic Lectures By Female Speakers- Some Points.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Women can be teachers, but men should avoid listening to women as long as other men are teaching the very same things to avoid the Fitnah of being attracted to women.

If the lady teacher in question is teaching a science that other men are not teaching or are busy to give time to you, then you may learn from the lady teacher subject to certain Sharii’ conditions:

(1) The woman should be accompanied by her Mahram, or another responsibile group of women, and there should be no Khalwa (being alone with the non-Mahram male).

(2) She should be in the appropriate Islamic Hijab.

(3) If she follows the opinion of covering her face not being obligatory, she shouldn’t beautify her face when keeping it open.

(4) She shouldn’t apply perfumes or any fragrance while teaching.

(5) She should try her best not to have an alluring voice.

(6) If she is being viewed by men, live or in a recorded video, the men should look at the state of their hearts and stop listening to her if their hearts are getting attracted to her. In either case, watching a live show or video recording, men should obligatorily lower their eyes from the female teachers, unless the female teacher is too old (post-menopausal) and unattractive to be sought for marriage.

(7) Sessions with Shaikhs or Shaikhas, which have mixed audiences, should have appropriate partitioning. They two genders shouldn’t sit side by side, rather, the men should sit in the front rows and women should be seated from the last rows (with or without a curtain). There shouldn’t be mixed seating arrangements or side-by-side separated arrangements. Side-by-side arrangements are ok if their is a physical partition like a wall or curtain.

Whoever attends the prayer with us, let him perform the Wudhu properly.

(Musnad Ahmad 3/471, Hasan.)

Encouragement To Recite Duas After Wudhu

Hadith 126:

Umar ibn Al-Khattab said that the Prophet ﷺ said:
If any one of you performs ablution, and does it well, and when he finishes the ablution, he utters the words : ‘I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He has no associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger’, all the eight doors of Paradise will be opened for him; he may enter (through) any of them. (This was narrated in Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan At-Tirmidhi records an additional supplication:)

O Allah! Make me among the repentant, and make me among those who purify themselves.’

(Sunan Abi Dawud 169, Sunan At-Tirmidhi 55, Hasan.)

Hadith 127:

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

Whosoever recites Suratul-Kahf, for him will be a light till the Day of Judgement, (like the distance) from his place to Makkah. And whosoever recites ten Ayaat from its end, and then Dajjal comes out, he (Dajjal) will not be able to harm him, and whoever performs Wudhu and says:

‘Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bi hamdika, ashhadu an laa ilaaha ill anta, astaghfiruka wa atoobu ilayka’

(Glory and praise be to You, O Allaah, I bear witness that there is no god but You, I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You),

it will be written on a paper and sealed, and this seal will not be broken till the Day of Judgement.

(At-Tabrani in Al-Awsat 1478, Sahih.)
