Why did the Mushriks of Makkah and the other Kuffar fight with The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?

Why did the Mushriks(polytheists/idol worshippers) of Makkah and the other Kuffar(disbelievers in Islam) fight with The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ?

بسم الله الرحمَن الرحيم

The Mushriks of Makkah strove and fought against The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ because he ﷺ taught beliefs against theirs and criticized their wrong practices in worship and reigion.

Some of their false beliefs were as follows:

  • The Mushriks of Makkah believed in many gods and deities (objects of worship).

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught them from The Quran that Allah, The One True Diety to be worshipped, is One.

Allah says in The Quran:

“And your God is One Ilah God (Allah), La ilaha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.”

[Surah Al-Baqarah 2:163]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah worshipped idols, stones and trees besides also worshipping Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ taught them to worship Allah alone, and do all supplications (Dua), Salah (Prayers), Sujud (Prostrations), Ruku (Bowing) and sacrifices only for Allah.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:

“It is You (Allah Alone) we worship and You (Allah Alone) we ask for help.”
[Al-Fatihah 1:5]

“Say (O Muhammad): Verily, my Salaah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinn and all that exists)”
[al-An’aam 6:162]

“And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely, Al-Kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters) will not be successful” [al-Mu’minoon 23:117]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah sacrificed animals in the name of their idols, trees and other objects of worship.

In a Hadeeth of the Prophet ﷺ, he mentioned that Allaah The Almighty curses those who offer sacrifices for the sake of someone else other than Him. [Muslim]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah, the Christians and the Jews made the graves of their Awliya (pious people) as places of worship. They would pray there, and also do Sujud (prostrations) there.

The Prophet taught them that graveyards are not places of worship.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “All the earth is a mosque apart from the graveyards and bathrooms.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 317; Ibn Maajah).

  • The Christians and the Jews made the graves of their Awliya (pious people) as places of worship, the Prophet criticized them for doing so and said that such an action was Haram (prohibited).

The Prophet ﷺ said: “May Allaah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 435; Muslim, 529).

It was narrated that Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “Do not sit on graves, or pray towards them.” (Narrated by Muslim, 972).

  • The Christians and the Jews made huge graves and build strong structures over them.

The Prophet ﷺ prohibited that people should build huge structures over graves.

It was narrated that Jaabir said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ forbade plastering over graves, sitting on them and erecting structures over them. Narrated by Muslim, 970.

  • The Mushriks of Makkah built idols and the Christians and the Jews made huge tombs over the graves of their pious people.

The Prophet ordered the companions to destroy the idols in The Kabah and huge tombs over the graves.

It was narrated that Abu’l-Hayaaj al-Asadi said: ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib said to me: “Shall I not send you on the same mission as the Messenger of Allaah ﷺsent me? Do not leave any statue without erasing it, and do not leave any raised grave without leveling it.” (Narrated by Muslim, 969).

  • The Mushriks of Makkah wore Amulets (Taweez/Tameemah) to protect themselves from evil eye , Shaytan, Jinn and other sicknesses.

The Prophet ﷺ taught them only to rely upon Allah and reject all these amulets.

It was narrated from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir al-Juhani that a group came to the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ [to swear their allegiance (bay’ah) to him]. He accepted the bay’ah of nine of them but not of one of them. They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the bay’ah of nine but not of this one.” He said, “He is wearing an amulet.” The man put his hand (in his shirt) and took it off, then he (the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) accepted his bay’ah. He said, ‘Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk .”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 16969)

The Prophet ﷺ taught the people to use The Quran and The Duas from The Sunnah to treat spiritual and physical illnesses, and asked them to avoid going to false charlatans.

It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood from ‘Abd-Allaah that he said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ say, ‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allaah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say: ‘Adhhib il-ba’s Rabb al-naas ishfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman .’”
(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3883; Ibn Maajah, 3530)

[Translation of The Dua: Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing which leaves no disease behind.]

  • The Kuffar would prostrate (do Sujud) to their leaders and idols.

The Prophet made that Haram (prohibited) for the people, he instructed that no one should be prostrated to, except Allah Alone.

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered one of the gardens of the Ansaar, where he saw two restless camels. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew close to them and they knelt down and lay their necks on the ground. Those who were with him said: They have prostrated to him. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“It is not appropriate for anyone to prostrate to anyone else. If it were appropriate for anyone to prostrate to anyone else, I would have instructed the wife to prostrate to her husband, because of the great rights that Allah has given him over her.”

(Ibn Hibban, 4162 (Hasan [Al-Albani]))

  • The Mushriks and Kuffar would seek protection from the Jinn.

The Prophet prohibited people from seeking help and protection from the Jinn.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:
‘And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief.’[Surah Jinn 72:6]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah would call upon others besides Allah in The Masjid-Ul-Haram in Makkah.

The Prophet ﷺ prohibited people from calling upon anyone other than Allah, in the Houses of Allah.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:
‘And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah’. [Surah Jinn 72:18]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah and the Kuffar would call upon the dead and their idols.

The Prophet made it clear that it is not permissible to call upon the dead and the idols as they do not own anything in comparison to Allah.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:
“And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmeer (the thin membrane over the date stone).
If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you [Faatir 35:13-14]

  • The Christians and Jews said that Allah had a son, the Mushriks of Makkah said that the Angels are daughters of Allah.

The Prophetﷺ taught from The Words of Allah in The Quran that Allah doesn’t have a son, and such a claim angers Allah.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:
And they say: “The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son [‘Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)].” Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Beneficent (Allah). But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children).

[Surah Maryam 19:88-92]

  • The Mushriks would swear and promise by other than Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ ordered people to swear(promise) in The Name of Allah Alone.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever swears an oath then let him swear by Allaah or else keep silent.” Agreed upon. And he said: “Whoever swears an oath, let him not swear by anything other than Allaah. Narrated by al-Nasaa’i.
And he said: “Whoever swears an oath by anything other than Allaah has committed shirk.”

  • The Mushriks of Makkah and the Kuffar regarded all the above acts of Shirk and polytheism as rewardable and commendable.

The Prophet ﷺ warned them that if they died without accepting Islam and in a condition where they used to do Shirk and make partners with Allah, they will never ever be forgiven. As for other sins, Allah may forgive them or punish them temporarily and then grant them paradise, if they accept Islam.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:
“Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.” [Surah An-Nisa 4:48]

  • The Mushriks of Makkah did not agree to accept Islam as the true religion and convert to Islam.

The Prophet ﷺ made it clear that if the idol worshippers of Makkah did not accept Islam they will enter the Hell Fire forever.

Even the followers of Moosa and Isa (Moses and Jesus عليهما السلام) should accept Islam, or else they will enter The ever lasting Hell Fire.

Allah, The Almight One True God, said in The Quran:

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85].

The Messenger of Allah Muhammad ﷺ said:

“By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no-one of this Ummah, Jew or Christian, who hears of me then dies without believing in that with which I have been sent, but he will be one of the people of Hell.”

(Sahih Muslim, 153).

Story 1: The Story of Muadh bin Jabal (رضي الله عنه) using Qiyas as a last resort is weak.

Some companions of Mu’adh ibn Jabal said:
When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) intended to send Mu’adh ibn Jabal to the Yemen, he asked: How will you judge when the occasion of deciding a case arises?

He replied: I shall judge in accordance with Allah’s Book. He asked: (What will you do) if you do not find any guidance in Allah’s Book? He replied: (I shall act) in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

He asked: (What will you do) if you do not find any guidance in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and in Allah’s Book?

He replied: I shall do my best to form an opinion and I shall spare no effort.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then patted him on the breast and said: Praise be to Allah Who has helped the messenger of the Messenger of Allah to find something which pleases the Messenger of Allah.

[Sunan Abu Dawud,3592]

(Weak according to Shaikh Al-Albani).

Story 2: The famous story of Umar ibn al Khattab (رضي الله عنه) accepting Islam after he intended to kill The Prophet ﷺ but went to Fatima bint Al-Khattab’s (رضي الله عنها) and read Surah TaHa, is not true.

Fatima bint al-Khattab (adhiallahu ‘anha), the sister of ‘Umar, accepted Islam and shortly thereafter, her husband Sa’id Ibn Zayd (radhiallahu ‘anhu), too, followed suit. But both kept it a closely guarded secret since they feared the violent inclination of ‘Umar’s nature. They knew that ‘Umar was a zealous adherent of his forefathers’ religion and carried a bitter aversion to the new faith in his bosom. Khabbab Ibn Aratt secretly taught the Qur’an to Fatima bint al-Khattab after her conversion.

‘Umar planned to murder the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). One day he sallied forth, with a sword hanging from his neck to find out the house near as-Safa where the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and his companions were reported to have assembled. Nu’aym Ibn ‘Abdullah, who belonged to ‘Umar’s tribe of Bani ‘Adiy and who had already acknowledged faith in the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), happened to see ‘Umar along the way armed and fiercely agitated. He asked, “Umar, where are you going?”

“I seek for Muhammad,” was ‘Umar’s reply, “And I will slay him; he has forsaken our religion, shattered the unity of the Quraysh; ridiculed them and vilified their gods. Today I will settle the matter once and for all.”

“Anger has blinded you,” retorted Nu’aym, “Would it not be better to set your own family in order?”

‘Umar was taken aback. He asked, “And who are they in my family?”

Nu’aym replied, “Your brother-in-law and cousin Sa-id Ibn Zayd and your sister Fatima. They have given faith to Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and accepted his religion. Better deal with them first.”

‘Umar immediately hurried on to the house of his sister. Khabbab was at that time reading the Surah Ta Ha (20th Chapter of the Qur’an) to the couple from a manuscript he had with him. When they caught the footsteps of ‘Umar, Khabbab hid himself inside a small room whereas Fatima instantly concealed the manuscript beneath her thigh. But as ‘Umar had already heard Khabbab reciting the scripture, he demanded on entering the house, “What was this nonsense murmur that I heard?’

“Nothing,” both answered, but “What have you heard?”

“Yes, I accidentally discovered,” continued ‘Umar angrily. “I know that both of you have joined the sect of Muhammad.” With these words, ‘Umar threw himself upon his brother-in-law. Fatima rushed in to save her husband, but ‘Umar struck her hard and wounded her.

All this happened abruptly, but now, both husband and wife boldly and openly asserted: “Yes, we are Muslims; we believed in Allah and His Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam); do whatever you will.”

‘Umar saw the blood flowing from the wound he had inflicted on his sister; his anger gave in to shame coupled with admiration for his sisters courage. Cooled down, he asked for the manuscript that he had heard Khabbab reading. He said “Show me the manuscript. I want to know what Muhammad has brought.” In reality, ‘Umar knew the art of reading and writing.

Fatima, however, replied, “I fear what you might do with it.”

“Umar promised, with solemn assurance, not to destroy it. Fatima, too, thought that he might change his views after reading the scripture. She said to him politely but firmly, “My brother, you are unclean because of your polytheism, and only the pure can touch it.” ‘Umar rose and took a bath. His sister then gave him the pages on which Surah Ta Ha was written. He had read only a few lines when he exclaimed in amazement,

“How noble and sublime is this speech!”

Thereupon Khabbab came out of his concealment and said, “O ‘Umar, by God, I hope that Allah would bless you with His Prophet’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) call; for I heard him just last night imploring earnestly; “O Allah, strengthen Islam by Abul Hakam (Abu Jahl) or ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab. Now, ‘Umar have some fear of God.”

‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) asked Khabbab to lead him to the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) so that he might accept Islam. On being told by Khabbab that the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was in a house at as-Safa with his companions, ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) immediately took his sword and headed for him. When ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) knocked at the door indicated by Khabbab(radhiallahu ‘anhu), one of the companions got up through a chink in the door to be sure of the person. Seeing ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) with his sword on, he hurried back appalled to report, “Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) of Allah, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khattab is here armed with his sword.”

Hamza (radhiallahu ‘anhu) intervened to say, “Let him in. If he comes with a peaceful intent, then it is alright, but if not, therewith we will kill him with his own sword.” The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ordered the companion to open the door for ‘Umar to enter and thus join them.

As ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) entered the door, the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) went forth to meet him in the room. He seized his cloak and pulling it rather firmly, said to him, “What for have you come, O son of Khattab? By God, I see that some calamity is to befall you before you have the final summons.”

But ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) replied submissively, “O Messenger of Allah, I have come to attest my faith in Allah and His Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and what he has brought from God.”

The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) raised the cry of Allah-O-Akbar so loudly that all the companions present in the house came to know that ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu), had just accepted Islam (Ibn Hisham, Vol. I, pp. 342-46).

‘Umar’s (radhiallahu ‘anhu) conversion was a turning point in the fortunes of Islam as it made Muslims feel all the more confident and strengthened. Hamza (radhiallahu ‘anhu) had already accepted Islam beforehand, and now with ‘Umar’s (radhiallahu ‘anhu) conversion, the Muslims knew that it was likely to send the Quraysh in jitters. They were particularly embittered on learning of ‘Umar’s (radhiallahu ‘anhu) conversion. The Muslims were thus right in their reckoning for none of those who had embraced Islam in the past made such a stir nor created such a tense excitemenand impact as did that of ‘Umar’s.

‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) proclaimed his faith publicly. As soon as the Quraysh came know about , they drew the sword against him but found the same person prepared to take the course. Ultimately, with his inherent might, the people who valued their lives did not dare put up a clash with ‘Umar (radhiallahu ‘anhu) but decided rather to keep their hands off him. (Ibn Hisham, Vol. I, p. 349)

Story 3: The Story of Abdur Rahman ibn Awf giving away 700 loaded camels in charity so that he cab enter Jannah walking is not authentic.

According to a narration of Anas, once, some sounds were heard in Madinah. Hz. Aisha asked,

“What is this?” They answered,

“It is Abdurrahman bin Afw’s caravan.” Thereupon, Hz. Aisha said,

“I heard the Messenger of Allah say,

‘I saw Abdurrahman bin Awf entering Paradise by crawling.’”

When Abdurrahman was told about it, he said:

“If I could, I would like to enter Paradise by walking.” Then, he gave away that caravan with all of the goods in it to the poor.

His parents want him to give up Dawah work and do another business…

A man asked Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him):

For a number of years I have been teaching people to memorize Qur’aan in a place far away from the city in which my parents live, and they are asking me to stop teaching and work with one of my brothers who live with them. I am hesitant about this matter because I am afraid that if I stop teaching, the students will be neglected and will forget the Qur’aan that they have memorized. What to you advise me to do? May Allaah reward you with good.

He replied:

We advise you to continue teaching Qur’aan memorization, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best of you are those who learn the Qur’aan and teach it to others” (narrated by Imaam al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh);

and because that is in the general interests of the Muslims.

You do not have to obey your parents in giving that up, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Obedience is only with regard to what is good and proper.”

But it is prescribed for you to explain that to them in a kind and polite manner.

And Allaah is the Source of strength.

Origin of The ‘Religion of Islam’.

Origin of the “religion” Islam.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(In the name of Allah,The Most Gracious,The Most Merciful)

Alhamdulillah,Nahmaduhu wa nusalli ala rasoolihil kareem.Amma baad-

Islam unlike other people think is not a religion. Because a religion only encompasses theological belief , but Islam is a Deen. Deen means a complete way of life . Deen includes religion and normal daily life activities as well .

So the title “ORIGIN OF THE RELIGION ISLAM” is actually wrong , the title must be “ORIGIN OF ISLAM AS A WAY OF LIFE”.

However since we now only dealing with the theological aspect of Islam,we will translate ‘Deen’ as religion.

Islam is the only way of life accepted by Allah,as Allah says in the Quran, which is his revealed book.
“And whoever seeks a religion(deen) other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him [3:85]”.

In this Ayah [3:19], Allah said, asserting that the only religion accepted with Him is Islam,
“Truly, the religion(deen) with Allah is Islam”.

Islaam, was not founded or discovered by Prophet Mohammed(sallallahualaihiwasallam) 1431++ years ago. . .

Islam was the religion which was practiced by all the messengers sent by Allah, who were sent down on this earth before Prophet Mohammed(sallallahualaihiwasallam).

The first human being Adam(alayhissalaam) ,then Noah,Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob, Jonah, Moses, Aaron, and Solomon, and also Jesus Christ (May peace be upon them all), the Quraan testifies that all of them were muslim, not only by the virtue that they were good human beings, but because all of them were selected by Allah, and they preached only Islaam, the fundamentals of which are still the same.

Like worshipping only Allah, and devoting all worship to him. The belief in Resurrection and The Day Of Judgement,i.e. Allah will raise all of us alive one day and judge us according to our good deeds and sins.etc.

However the followers of all the previous Prophets deviated from the true teachings of Islaam, after the death of their Prophets, and concocted their new self invented beliefs.

Allah created Adam(alaihisslaam) in the heavens. . .
The story of Adam is related in the Quran in detail in Chapter 2 verses 30 to 37.

Other verses of the Quraan which testify the religion of the other Prophets to be muslim are . . .

“We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma’il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms. [4:163]”

“We gave him Isaac and Jacob (alayhissalaam) : all (three) guided: and before him, We guided Noah(alayhissalaam), and among his progeny, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good.[6:84]”

“Abraham(alayhissalaam) was not a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim (musliman), and he was not one of the polytheists. [3:67]”

“When Jesus(alayhissalaam) found Unbelief on their part He said: “Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?” Said the disciples: “We are Allah’s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. [3:52]”

For example the jews and the christians corrupted their holy books with their own hands:-
“Know they not Allah Knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal? And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say: ‘This is from Allah,’ To traffic with it for a miserable price! Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby. [2:77-79]”

Same was the case with the followers of all the other messengers. However, Prophet Mohammed(sallallahulaihiwasallam) was sent as the last and final messenger , whose message was to last till the world would live , and Allah has guaranteed that He himself would guard the Quraan and it’s teachings…

“We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly Guard it (from corruption). [15:9] ”

Allah has sealed the line of messengers with Prophet Mohammed(sallahulaihiwasallam),as Allah says in the Quran:-
“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Prophet of God, and the Seal of the Messengers: and Allah has full knowledge of all things. (The Noble Quran, 33:40)”

*Hence we have established from the Quraan that Islam is not a new religion, but the fact is that it is the oldest religion, and the only religion and only way of life which can lead to mankind’s salvation.

And the basic requirement to become a muslim is to read the testimony of faith(the kalima)…
As it is narrated in the authentic hadeeth(recorded sayings and actions of the Prophet[salallahualihiwasallam]):-

Abdullah bin Bareeda narrates from his father Abu dharr and his cousin brother Naeem that -both went in search of the Prophet(sallallahualaihiwasallam),and Bareedah’s father was also amongst them,at that instant Mohammed (sallallahualaihiwasallam) was hiding in the mountain,so abu dhar called “Ya Mohammed! We came to you to listen what you brought for us! So the messenger of Allah replied-‘my invitation to you is ‘La ilaha illallah mohammed ur rasulullah’- just after hearing that Abu dharr and his companions accepted islam”.
(“Al-isaba fi tamiyyazul sahaba” by imam ibn hajar asqalan.vol 6.page 365.sahih)

‘La ilaha illallah mohammed ur rasulullah’ means “There is no god worthy of Worship but Allah and Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah.”

May Allah guide all of us to the true “way of life” Islam.Aameen.

The story that the Prophet ﷺ allowed the Christians of Najran to pray in The Masjid is not authentically proven.

Imam ibn Katheer wrote:

Ibn Is-haaq said, ‘Muhammad ibn Jaʻfar ibn Az-Zubayr narrated that the (Najraan) delegation came to the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, in Madeenah and entered his masjid wearing robes and garments after he had prayed the ʻAsr prayer. They accompanied a caravan of camels led by Bani Al-Haarith ibn Kaʻb. The Companions of the Messenger of Allaah who saw them said that they never saw a delegation like them after that. When their time of worship came, they stood up to perform their worship in the Prophet’s masjid. He, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, said, ‘Let them (worship),’ and they prayed towards the east.

Read the story of Thumaamah (رضي الله عنه) here(read both the narrations)-

https://sunnah.com/bukhari/64/398

https://sunnah.com/muslim/32/70

Conclusion: Since the story of the Prophet ﷺ inviting the Christians of Najran and allowing them to pray in The Masjid according to their customs is not authentic, we can not use that as a proof to allow Non-Muslims to enter the Masaajid and pray as they will and wish.

The authentic story of Thumaamah bin Uthal (رضي الله عنه) shows us that Non-Muslims may be allowed into The Masjid so that they see the worship of the Muslims and that softens their hearts towards Islam.

Allah says in The Quran:

(وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا)

And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
